Epping will attend UW's one-day camp
It's been awhile since we've touched base with Zac Epping.
Early in the process, the Kenosha (Wis.) Tremper prospect was able to land a number of scholarship offers from schools such as Minnesota, Central Michigan, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.
Since then, however, things have slowed down and Epping is getting ready to show is worth on the camp circuit this summer.
Monday night, BadgerBlitz.com caught up with the three-star prospect to discuss his interest in the Badgers and his plans for the summer.
"It's been kind of quiet," stated the 6-foot-3, 274-pound lineman. "Michigan State invited me to their camp, so I'm going there next Friday.
"Wisconsin wants me to attend camp and everything. I think it's on Monday; it's a one-day camp. I'll also be camping at NIU and Minnesota. In addition, I get weekly letters from Indiana and Buffalo."
When asked to comment on his only BCS offer, Epping was admittedly impressed with the Golden Gofers.
"I like the o-line coach a lot, Coach (Tim) Davis," he said. "We've been getting pretty close throughout the recruiting process. Everything is great between us and I have nothing bad to say about them.
"I was able to go to their spring game. The facilities are amazing. They are by far the best I've ever seen."
As far as favorites, Epping's services are currently available to all suitors.
"I don't really want to list any favorites," he explained. "I want to keep my options open."
Although Epping is a standout on both sides of the ball, a majority of the schools see him as a guard or center at the next level.
As a junior he recorded 99 tackles, seven tackles for a loss and six sacks on defense.
