Smith is a point guard to watch in 2011

More and more colleges are looking into signing a point guard in every recruiting class. It's the one position on the court that teams cannot afford to be lacking. NC State has five-star point guard Ryan Harrow from Marietta, Ga., coming in the 2010 class.

Now head coach Sidney Lowe, himself a former point guard, has his turned his attention to ball handlers in the 2011 class. NC State is known to have taken a long look already at Naadir Tharpe from Wolfeboro (N.H.) Brewster Academy and Marquis Rankin from Charlotte (N.C.) Vance High. In addition combo guard Bishop Daniels from Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God Academy has been recruited by NC State.

Another name on the Wolfpack board is Deville Smith, a 5-foot-10, 160-pounder from Jackson, Miss., who led Callaway High to a 4A/5A state title as a sophomore.
