Gray enjoys Iowa camp
High school football players attend camps for different reasons whether it is to get noticed and get their name out there or improve their skills. For Hawkeye commit Austin Gray, going to Iowa's camp this week was a chance to work with his future coaches and get used to the surroundings in Iowa City. The linebacker talks about his experience at Iowa's camp, getting to know some of the other recruits, and much more.
Q: First of all, how did camp go for you this week?
GRAY: Camp was great. I mean I went out there and got to compete a little bit, got to show off a little bit, made some new friends, and got to spend some time with the coaches. It was a good time.
Q: What was it like getting to work with Coach Wilson?
GRAY: It was great and we got to know each other a little bit better. He got to learn how I am as an athlete on the field and I got to learn a little bit more about how he coaches his athletes. It was a good bonding experience I guess you could say.
Q: Did you get to hang out with James Morris a little bit more too?
GRAY: Yeah. Actually, Monday night after our evening session, my parents, my teammate, and I went over to James' house and ate supper with his family and hung out a little bit. Then Tuesday night after our last session, we checked out of camp, and James and I went to a movie and chilled a little bit.
