Drummond comfortable with Spartans

Though his recruitment is far from over, Michigan State currently sits in good position with Kurtis Drummond of Hubbard, Ohio.

The 6-2, 198 Drummond, listed as an athlete on his Rivals.com profile, is being recruited on both sides of the ball, from wide receiver to linebacker and/or safety. The Spartans like him at safety.

"They like my size, the way I change direction and how I cover and play a ball," Drummond told SpartanMag.com Monday night.

Drummond recently had an opportunity to check out MSU and meet with the coaching staff face-to-face. He left East Lansing impressed with what the Spartans have to offer.

"It was on Tuesday (June 16)," Drummond said of his unofficial visit. "I was really impressed with everything. I got to talk to a couple of the players. And I would say they are in the top two (with Michigan)."

Asked what stood out about his visit specifically, Drummond said, "The players' atmosphere, just the way they were around each other. I like the coaching staff. They are very real, like they let you know where you stand as far as how you're doing, where you stand on the depth chart, like they're not going to sugar-coat anything and I like that about them."
