Sleeper Lee has three offers

Despite having not started at defensive back last year Dallas Skyline High School cornerback Adrian Lee has three scholarship offers. The 6-foot, 190-pounder is benefiting from a strong grade-point average as well as a 4.35 timed 40-yard dash.

Currently, Lee has offers from Colorado State, Southern Methodist and the University of Texas-El Paso, while also collecting phone calls from Arizona State, Wisconsin, Arizona, Kansas State and Baylor.

"They (college coaches) see that I am already good sized for a cornerback and they see I have speed too," Lee said. "Most of them tell me that they see me as an athlete who they are going to see either as a safety."

Lee, who carries a GPA of 3.0 and a squat of 350 pounds, said he is considering majoring in accounting, sociology or psychology. He added he is looking for a decent school and is trying to decide whether to set his sites on a large school where it might take him until his junior year to play significant minutes, or attend a smaller school where playing time can come right away.

Last season Lee played some running back as well as cornerback and kickoff coverage, but didn't start. That has made his recruiting progress more impressive.

"I was a little surprised (at all the attention), but it is crazy because I wasn't expecting to get any offers like this," he said. "A lot of scouts were telling me they wanted me to send them two good games of film and they will offer."

Colorado State didn't wait for next season before they offered a scholarship. CSU cornerbacks coach Tim Duffie is leading CSU's recruitment of Lee.

"He tells me stuff like it (CSU) is home, it is cool and it is a good little atmosphere," Lee said. "He is pretty much a laid-back guy too. Plus, he is my position coach so if I commit there, I will know him, he will know me and we'll have a good relationship."

Lee said he is interested in visiting Colorado State and UTEP.
