Illinois back hoping to catch Louisville's eye

LaSteven McKinney, a 5-9, 166-pound running back from Nazareth Acaedmy in Broadview, Ill., already holds four scholarship offers, and he thinks a couple of BCS schools might be closing in as well. After rushing for more than 1,200 yards in each of the past two seasons and gaining close to 2,000 all-purpose yards as a junior, the three-star prospect has spent the summer trying to make his mark with college coaches.

"I've been to Iowa, Purdue, and Central Michigan, and then I plan on going to Louisville on the 12th (of July)," McKinney told Cardinalsports.com Sunday evening. An all-purpose athlete who has played receiver, running back, and defensive back, said he has gotten a lot of good work in at the camps he's attended.
