Boilers get their QB

The Boilermakers have landed a quarterback for the 2010 class, and it's the one they wanted.

Rivals.com three-star prospect Sean Robinson, the 10th-ranked dual-treat QB in the '10 class, verbally committed to the Boilermaker coaches last week before going public with the news Monday morning.

"I just had a gut feeling," Robinson said. "I had 23 offers and have been to a lot of places, but just felt comfortable there."

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Robinson, a senior-to-be at Rochester High School in Illinois, says he chose Purdue over finalists Nebraska, Northwestern, Iowa and Boston College. Others, including Illinois, Louisville, Stanford and Wisconsin, had offered as well and Notre Dame was showing interest.

It was significant, Robinson said, that the Boilermakers had seemingly made him priority No. 1.

"It did," he said. "They told me throughout the recruiting process that I'm their guy and I'm the one they wanted, which helped too. It's comforting to go into a place that wants you and you're their No. 1 priority."

Robinson had made multiple unofficial visits to Purdue, the last coming about a month before he committed.

"I like it there a lot," he said. "It's got big facilities that are up-to-date, in a nice town. The dorms that I'll stay in are brand new, so it was all good."
