Weekend visit for Jackson

Columbus (Ohio) DeSales offensive guard prospect Travis Jackson is nearing his college decision.

Though the recruiting sites haven't been filled with stories about the 6-4, 255-pound Jackson narrowing his list, he would like to make his decision before his senior season begins, and he won't be picking from a top five like many of his recruiting classmates.

It might not seem like an easy approach for a prospect with nearly 20 scholarship offers, but Jackson has a plan, with a part of his decision-making process happening on the campus of one of his suitors this weekend.

"It's really hard to narrow the list," Jackson told SpartanMag.com Monday evening. "I really like Michigan State a lot. I'm actually going up there this Friday. I'm taking my family up there. And right now with recruiting I'm kind of looking to make a decision before the season, so I'm thinking about getting it done."

Jackson added of how he plans to make his college decision without narrowing the field: "It's kind of hard to say. I like Michigan State a lot, again. I like Boston College. I like Cincinnati, Northwestern. It's really hard. It's kind of just like I'm not going to narrow it down. I'm just going to have a huge list and pick one."
