Memphis (Tenn.) Memphis University School 3-star running back Keith McBride currently has three offers and each in their own right has caught his attention. So much that he is in the process of setting up some of his official visits.
McBride has not kept his list of schools of interest a secret and he isn't about to start now. He stated in June when speaking with GBK.com that Duke was his favorite, but as it stands now, it appears that Army has closed the recruiting gap.
The similarities with both football programs and the schools themselves are pretty much on the same path. The quality of education from both institutions is obvious and each program is working diligently to get in the high caliber players, that can also maintain the academic challenges of the respective colleges.
Official Visit Planned?
For most recruits, narrowing down the list of schools they will visit officially is no easy task. But there are times in which a prospect has a legitimate interest in a school and will utilize his visit to become more informed.
I spoke to Coach Brock last week about coming up for for my official visit for the game against Vanderbilt.

In the case of McBride, he has already decided on one school that he will visit and has targeted the date in which he would like to make his official visit. "I'm very interested in Army and I'm happy they had confidence in me early to offer me back in May," shares the 3-star running back. "I'm looking forward to visiting them in October to check everything out. I spoke to Coach Brock last week about coming up do the Vanderbilt game for my official visit."
In addition to the offers from Army and Duke, 6-foot-0, 212 pound prospect has an offer from Princeton out of the Ivy League. He is also hearing a lot from Northwestern and Southern Mississippi is a school that is showing real interest.
Like most recruited players, McBride has to balance the recruit aspect of his summer in conjunction with the preparation of his upcoming senior season. "We actually started official practice last week and this is our second week of full pads," says McBride, who ran a hot 4.42 at the Southern Mississippi camp this summer. "The team is excited and ready to roll. We have a scrimmage this Friday and getting ready for that."
Along with playing football, McBride excelled on the track as well, where he ran the 100M (10.82), 200M, 4x100 (10.3) and 4x200M events.
McBride is not the only Memphis University School prospect to have an offer from the Black Knights. Athlete Stephen Allmond is also a target of the Army staff. "We talk about us both having offers from Army," says McBride, as he reflects on previous conversations that he has had with Allmond. "We talk how it would be cool, and being teammates in high school and then teammates in college."
At 6-foot-0, 212 pounds, McBride already has quality size. However, you can add to his running back resume
good vision, good feet and when he sees the hole, the ability to explode.
McBride is familiar with the offense scheme run by the Black Knights. "We run the spread and the option quite a bit and I would be a fit with what Army runs," states McBride.
