Big wide receiver commits to UTEP

Wylie, Texas wide receiver Aaron Morris was hoping to get his recruitment over with early but needed to find the right fit. After developing relationships with the coaches at UTEP, Morris feels like he might have found that fit. On Sunday, the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder decided to commit to the UTEP coaching staff.

"I committed to UTEP on Sunday," Morris said. "When I went to their camp, all the coaches and all the relationships were great. I've been talking to them for a while and I like the new offense they've got. They're going to the spread this year. Coach Banks and Coach Holliday, they just talked me into it."

Currently, the UTEP offer was Morris' only official scholarship offer but after consulting with his family, Morris decided that it was the only one he needed.

"I wanted to get it out of the way early," he said. "I've been talking to my mom and dad about it and I wanted to make sure it's all good this year."

Along with UTEP, Morris has been receiving significant interest from Tulsa, Kansas, Texas A&M and Arizona State. With his decision to head to El Paso behind him, Morris is now excited for his first visit to the UTEP campus which will occur this Saturday when he takes an unofficial visit to the UTEP-Kansas game.

So far this season, Wylie is off to a 1-1 start. In the first two games, Morris has picked up 69 yards receiving on four receptions, with one going for a touchdown. He is hoping for more this Friday night and this season.

So what will the UTEP staff be getting in the big target from Wylie?

"I'm good at blocking," he said. "I'm big, skinny, elusive, smart and coachable."
