Black Knights hosting visitors this weekend
There will be anticipation in the air for the Army coaching staff as they host the Duke Blue Devils out of the ACC. In addition to hosting Duke, the Black Knights will be hosting a few high school football prospects that will be on hand at Michie Stadium.
After a successful road win against Eastern Michigan, Army is excited to be playing in front of the Black Knight faithful, who are anxiously awaiting the chance to see their Army up close and personal for the first this season.
It will also be a day that has 8 inductees into the Army Sports Hall of Fame, including legendary Duke Basketball Coach and West Point grad, Mike Krzyzewski.
Over the next several home games, starting with Saturday's contest against Duke, there will several recruits making their way to West Point. The next few home games will see prospects in attendance, and the weekend of two upcoming home games against Vanderbilt and Tulane in particular have been designated as part of the an official visit weekend.
Hence, there will a combination of official and unofficial visits, with some key talent making their time visit to historical campus.
There are prospects like Big A.J. McGovern who is already an Army commit and has already visited (unofficially) the campus a few times. The 6-foot-2, 285 pound McGovern will be on campus this weekend to take in the game against Duke and chat with the coaching staff.
Also joining McGovern this weekend to view the Army-Duke contest will be athlete Jonathan Crucitti out of Mount Ulla (NC) West Rowan High School. The unique circumstances surrounding Crucitti's recruiting and as mentioned in GBK.com's recent article on the North Carolina native, is that he is being recruited for both Army football and baseball. As a result, his visit this weekend is an official, but for the baseball team.
Army vs. Vanderbilt Weekend
For the October 9th weekend, there will several players coming in for their official visit, along with others taking in the game against Vanderbilt, as part of their unofficial visit.
This will include 3-star prospects Keith McBride (RB) and Maxx Forde (DE), who are both visiting Army officially.
The 6-foot-0, 205 pound McBride has Army and Princeton as his top two schools. While in the New York area for his visit to Army, McBride indicated that he will also attempt to visit Princeton on Wednesday and attending their game on Thursday (unofficial). In addition, he might be going to Rutgers for unofficially, if time permits.
McBride's teammate Stephond Allmond who has an offer from the Black Knights is looking to set-up his official visit to Army as well.
In addition to McBride and Forde
cornerback and Army commit Martinez Davis will on hand
Linebacker Brad Bars stated that he is looking to set up his official visit to Army, but needs to confirm a date with the coaching staff.
The list of visitors will continue to grow and GBK.com will continue to provide updates.
