#4 (Class 5A) Watson Chapel vs #2 (Class
6A) Pine Bluff - Friday, September 10th
Watson Chapel enters it game with Pine Bluff on 11 days rest after being upended by Shiloh Christian
on the season's opening night 52-20. There were few bright spots that night for the Wildcats but Aaron Lagrone was one of them, rushing for 126 yards on 14 carries. Lagrone also ran the Wildcats first kick-
off back 81 yards for one of his three scores that night (two rushing touchdowns were his others).
You can bet that Coach George Shelton will have Watson Chapel ready to make amends for their poor
showing against the Saints when they play rival Pine Bluff Friday night. Key Stat: The Wildcats are 3-4 against the Zebras since 2002, including a 22-20 home victory over Pine Bluff last season.
Pine Bluff enjoyed a Week 1 outcome on the opposite end of the spectrum than their Friday night
opponent Watson Chapel. The Zebras pounded Fort Smith Northside 51-35 behind the strong running
of tailback Jawahn Hunt who rushed for a whopping 372 yards and five scores in his first game back
for Pine Bluff since Week 2 of last season. Pine Bluff players certainly let it be known they were not
impressed with the Wildcats performance against Shiloh Christian last week, taunting them outside of
their lock-room at halftime. There is certainly no love lost between these two programs. Key Stat:Pine
Bluff has improved in the win column each season under Coach Bobby Bolding: 2 in '07, 7 in '08 and 9
Kyle O'Neal's Pick: Watson Chapel by 1 | Luke Matheson's Pick: Pine Bluff by 2
