Zachary Offense Tough to Tame

PelicanPreps: Zachary Offense Tough to Tame

Zachary High School went from 3-7 last season to 8-2 and District 5-5A co-champions in 2010. The reasons for the turn around under head coach Neil Weiner are many. But a lot has to do with an offense that has scored nearly 200 more points this season than it did a year ago.

The Broncos are averaging 35 points per game, but since a 16-9 double-overtime loss to Central, Zachary has averaged 48 points per game in three wins. And the team has done it with two players—senior Darol Dewey and junior Mason Pace—rotating at quarterback.
