Jackson excited about future

Harrison Jackson is admittedly disappointed with how his senior season turned out but the Boston College commit now turns his focus to the Eagles and getting ready for his college career.

The wide receiver from Purcellville (Va.) Loudoun County is playing basketball but after that he said he's going to hit the weight room and the field to work on his route running to prepare for his next step with the Eagles.

Loudoun Valley finished 3-7.

"Our season is over and I'm playing basketball now," Jackson said. "When we had our bye week I believed we were going to turn it around and we played some close games but we couldn't finish them when it came down to the fourth quarter.

"Looking back I'm a little upset because maybe as seniors we should have pushed each other harder in the off-season. We felt we were going to be really good this year but it really didn't work out for us."

Jackson, who finished with about 36 receptions for 700 yards this season, committed to Boston College after getting an offer at the Eagles' summer camp. The 6-foot-2, 181-pound prospect said he cannot wait to get started with his college career.

"After football season ended my focus is really on basketball and my teammates," Jackson said. "Once basketball is over I'm going to be weight lifting, route running and really getting ready for Boston College."

Jackson said there is no concern with how Boston College's season has turned out because of injuries and young players getting early time on the field. The Virginia prospect said he hopes the 2012 recruiting class is the one to turn the program around.

He said there's no chance he'll look at other programs.

"I can't wait to get up there," Jackson said. "I know the coaches are pushing them hard and they're doing good things up there. We're going to turn it around once we get up there. I'm not worried about it at all."
