Cooper leaves Wake

The Winston-Salem Journal's Dan Collins reported free safety Desmond Cooper has left Wake Forest.

Cooper, a 6-foot-2 and 195-pound redshirt sophomore from Jacksonville, Fla., transferred to UNC-Charlotte. He joins former Demon Deacons Daniel Blitch and Duke Mosby.

He was third on the depth chart behind Daniel Mack and Duran Lowe at free safety.

In 13 games as a contributor on special teams Cooper was in on four tackles last season.
