A fumble on the first play of the first Virginia Tech possession is never a good sign.

Though the fumble by freshman running back J.C. Coleman set the Hokies back a bit at the start, they rebounded nicely for a 42-7 win yesterday over Austin Peay.

Coleman himself still finished with six carries for 29 yards. Redshirt freshman Michael Holmes had the most impressive day for the running backs, with a pair of touchdowns to go with 40 yards rushing.

Collectively, Virginia Tech had 187 yards rushing from seven different ball carriers, which included reverses to wide receivers Marcus Davis and Demitri Knowles.

After the game, Holmes, Kyshoen Jarrett, Randall Dunn and Jack Tyler addressed the media to talk about the performance.

Note: We apologize for the technical difficulty from this video, which included audio and tripod difficulty.
