While watching his beloved Washington Redskins Sunday, Virginia Tech junior linebacker Jack Tyler couldn't help but notice how the Redskins performed.
Specifically, he said he noticed how Robert Griffin III and the players trusted in what coach Mike Shanahan did. And it worked with a big win at New Orleans.
Tyler said he's taken the same approach with how he plays. Defensive coordinator Bud Foster has such a proven track record, Tyler listens carefully to what he's told.
"Coach Foster every week puts in a great gameplan," Tyler said. "I can't say it's easy to go out there and do it, but it really is."
With that mentality, Tyler picked up 17 tackles against Georgia Tech and eight tackles against Austin Peay. And why mess with a good thing?
"All you have to do is do exactly what he says," Tyler said. "You're gonna be in the right spot, you're gonna be making the right reads, you're gonna be making plays and then it really is a credit to Coach Foster and how good he is preparing us."
