Rivals.com's Mike Farrell takes a look back at class of 2009 quarterbacks Geno Smith and Tajh Boyd.
Boyd originally committed to the Mountaineers but soon after switched his commitment to Tennessee. He would eventually sign with the Clemson Tigers.
With Boyd and WVU parting ways the West Virginia staff would turn their focus to Smith. The Miramar High School standout would commit to the program in November 2008 and sign a letter of intent three months later.
Both players have had impressive careers to say the least and while Smith will take his talents to the NFL next year, Boyd could return to Clemson after being redshirted his first year on campus.
The two athletes had their first chance to go head-to-head in last year's Orange Bowl. Smith led his team to a decisive 70-33 win.
