Cats land 19th commit

Tommy Fuessel committed to Northwestern today to become the 19th member of the Wildcats' Class of 2013.

The two-star athlete from Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East decommitted from Northern Illinois this week and took an official visit to Northwestern this weekend, when he pulled the trigger.

Fuessel is a 6-foot-3, 180-pounder that played quarterback at Lincoln-Way but probably projects as a wide receiver or safety at the next level. He is an intriguing combination of size and speed, having posted strong numbers at an ESPN combine over the summer, including a 4.46 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical leap.

Fuessel is the fifth Wildcat commitment from the Land of Lincoln.
