We're under 30 days until signing day and official visits are starting to heat up as coach Willie Taggart both completes his staff and turns up the heat on recruiting for the Class of 2013.
This week we reached out to both verbal commitments and targeted prospects to find out where they are in their recruiting process. If anything this week, we learned that even a National Championship can't keep a recruit in the fold - as Demarcus Walker from Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood shocked most of the college recruiting experts by decommitting to Alabama and early-enrolling at Florida State on Tuesday.

Buzz: Three-star wide receiver Zach Benjamin was puzzled at Robert Weiner's decision to go back to Plant High School just two days after taking a coaching position with USF. The Tampa Catholic wide receiver said that he was "surprised and in disbelief" at Weiner's decision, but had heard that the Panther coach was happy at Plant. Benjamin will make his official visit to USF the second week of January and said he has decided that he will be signing with USF on February 6th.

Buzz: Other sites have reported that Kemp has eliminated the Bulls, but that's not what he tweeted out and told us. "I'm not taking any more official visits, I have two unofficial visits. I'm going to Tennessee and Kentucky later this month." He did verify that USF is still in his 'top five'. "Yeah I'm still considering USF and other schools."

Buzz: Coppet spoke to coach Larry Scott and is trying to arrange a date for a visit. He said USF is still "very high" on his list. He recently received an offer from Houston where teammate John O'Korn has committed. If the Bulls can get Coppet, they may be able to flip O'Korn.

Buzz: Although he still has two official visits left, Sebring (Fla.) defensive back Arthur Williams says that USF is his top choice. The Bulls have not officially offered Williams as of yet, however Taggart offered him when at WKU. The two-star recruit will visit FIU and Youngstown State in January, but already has USF safely in first amongst his top four schools. In Williams' rankings, the Bulls are supreme, followed by Youngstown State, Jacksonville University and Florida International. Williams says that he has spoken with USF coach Larry Scott, but "hasn't been to USF since they fired everyone." The DB will make his decision sometime in January after his visits and does not plan on waiting until signing day.
