Keon Lattimore Creates His Own Path, Picks...

Keon Body

As reported first by the Terrapin Times and Baltimore Sun, Mount St. Joe RB/WR/DB Keon Lattimore (6-0/200) has verballed to the University of Maryland. He projects as a WR in Ralph Friedgen's offense.

Lattimore has exceptional speed, splendid vision and excellent change of direction.

He was hampered by a badly sprained ankle the back half of the season, but he still managed to rush for 9 TDs and 702 yards. The Baltimore Sun selected him as a first team All-Metro.

Keon's best game came against league power Gilman. In a showdown with top recruits Ambrose Wooden and Victor Abiamiri, Keon exploded for 5 TDs (4 rushing and 1 KO return), 121 yards rushing, 117 yards receiving and a 78 yard kickoff return.

Out of conference, Keon shined against Landon. His numbers that afternoon? 238 yards rushing, 4 TDs. One of them especially spectacular. It was a backwards pass (counted as a rushing TD), in which he stepped back off the line of scrimmage, caught it, ran up field, ran back against the grain, cut it up, bounced it back outside and went the distance- about 80 yards.

Keon may be Ray Lewis's younger brother, but he is creating his own path by choosing Maryland. The Florida native picks the Terps over Miami (FL), Virginia, NC State and North Carolina. Playing at MD will allow his family that lives in Baltimore to easily watch him play.

He is one of the first of a very talented group of seniors in MD and DC to make his choice. Maryland expects to do well with this group. is your source for: College Football | Football Recruiting | College Basketball | Basketball Recruiting | College Baseball | High School | College Merchandise
