The US Army All-American Bowl is in San Antonio and Rivals.com has its coverage of the game.
Twelve Floridians were invited - and several Sunshine state standouts shined in Monday's practices.
No one stood out more than Hialeah Champagnat Catholic DT Travonte Valentine. The Miami commit shined in the 11-on-11 drills.
"There were no dominant performances at Monday's East team practice, but there were spurts when the 6-foot-3, 286-pound Valentine did dominate," said Rivals Analyst Josh Hemholdt. "He recorded two tackles for loss on the first three plays of full team scrimmage Monday morning, then was disruptive again in the afternoon, showing a quick first step and the agility to get around offensive linemen and into the backfield."
St. Petersburg Lakewood OL Isaiah Wynn - a Georgia commit - also put on a strong performance for the East Squad.
According to Hemholdt: "While the offensive line group was solid on Day 1, only Wynn could be called exceptional. At 6-foot-2 and 270 pounds he was one of the smaller offensive linemen on the field, but defensive linemen could not get around him. He has good hand placement and when he sets his base he does not get pushed back. His size, or lack thereof, means he is also pretty nimble for a guard."
