Shipley commits to LSU

Class of 2015 tight end Hanner Shipley of Marble Falls, TX, Faith Academy told TigerBait.com Wednesday evening that he is a LSU commitment.

"I just got off of the phone with Les Miles and I committed," Shipley said in a brief online message.

Shipley stands at 6-foot-5, 260 pounds and could either play tight end at the next level or project as an offensive tackle.

He told TigerBait.com several weeks ago that he's not adverse to offensive tackle if his body continues to grow.

Shipley's family is well known in Texas football. His granfather played for SMU. His father played for TCU (send all time leading receiver). His cousin Jordan played for Texas and cousin Jaxon just finished his junior season for the Longhorns. His Uncle Bob Shipley was on Mack Brown's staff.

TigerBait.com will have more on this story in the very near future.
