Linebacker Cameron Smith hustles through a drill at the RCS Northern California.
HAYWARD, Calif. -- The 2014 Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour completed its two-city swing through California on Sunday at Chabot College, where nearly 200 competitors found the conditions a bit drier than the campers had in Fullerton.
Headlining the campers was Rivals100 linebacker Cameron Smith, who has nearly every school in the Pac-12 in hot pursuit. Smith is a four-star prospect who has done nothing but rise in the rankings and may continue to do so.
Interestingly, cornerback Isaiah Langley participated in the RCS Southern California on Saturday, then traveled north and battled again on Sunday. He earned an invitation to the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Baltimore in June after his busy weekend.
Class of 2016 Kevin Costello was awarded the MVP for the quarterback position, while a couple of relatively unknown players also snagged MVP honors. Noah Myers walked away as the top O-lineman after an outstanding day, and Rodney Washington Jr. emerged as the top DB in camp.
With the California leg of the RCS tour wrapped up, all eyes will turn to Texas, where another group of elite athletes will square off next weekend. On Saturday, campers will compete at DeSoto High School outside of Dallas, and on Sunday the RCS will be held at Westfield High School in Houston.
At each camp, our team of football recruiting experts invites elite players to participate in the 2014 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. The event will be held June 6-8 at M&T Stadium in Baltimore.
Cornerback Isaiah Langley earned a trip to Baltimore this weekend.
