Jalen Hurts unleashes a pass during drills on Saturday.
HOUSTON -- On another chiily day in Texas, the 2014 Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour took its road show to Westfield High School for the second and final stop of its Texas leg. About 200 athletes competed under gray skies, many of whom will eventually be showcasing their talents for BCS-level programs.
Among the eight Rivals250 prospects was four-star cornerback P.J. Mbanasor, a TCU commit who competed hard all afternoon. Mbanasor was part of an impressive array of DBs, as he was joined by Alabama commit Deionte Thompson and Texas commit Jalen Campbell. Jaylon Lane, however, earned MVP honors with an outstanding effort.
At the offensive skill positions, running backs Warren Wand impressed, as did four-star wide receiver Kemah Siverand and Gary Haynes, who won MVP honors at the position.
The top quarterback on the day was class of 2016 pro-style QB Jalen Hurts, who showed off the best arm of all the campers.
With the Texas leg of the Rivals Camp Series in the books, attention now turns to the Deep South. Next weekend, Hattiesburg, Miss., will be the site of Saturday's camp, followed by an event in Birmingham, Ala., on Sunday. Stay tuned to Rivals.com for complete coverage.
At each camp, our team of football recruiting experts invites elite players to participate in the 2014 Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour. The event will be held June 6-8 at M&T Stadium in Baltimore.
Deionte Thompson will wrap up his summer camps in Baltimore.
