Penn State commit Brandon Wimbush fires a pass during Day 1 of the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge.
BALTIMORE -- The most star-studded Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour in the three-year history of the event took the field at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday. After battling less than ideal weather for a majority of the stops on the 2014 Rivals Camp Series tour, Day 1 of the Five-Star Challenge enjoyed ideal conditions for a roster that included a record 18 five-star prospects. The athletes went through position drills starting in the late morning and early afternoon in advance of Sunday's 7-on-7 tournament and Big Man Challenge.
The nation's No. 1 player, Byron Cowart showed out strong as expected in the one-on-one drills. He wrapped up the session with a three-rep battle against USC-commit Chuma Edoga, winning two of three.
Among the quarterbacks, Arizona State-commit Brady White impressed a group of talented quarterbacks. He will lead Team Clutch on Sunday, when one of his top targets will be Oregon-commit Taj Griffin, who also enjoyed a strong Day 1.
The final 30 minutes at the home of the Ravens were spent by the players with their Sunday teams, going over plays and assignments for the 7-on-7 tournament in walk-through format.
Sunday's final day of the event will be streamed live on Rivals.com starting at 9:15 a.m. The Rivals.com staff will have complete analysis of the event throughout the weekend and next week as we evaluate who should move up and who should move down during our next rankings period.
