Lawlor picks Penn State

Fullback Dan Lawlor (6-3, 235) from Cumberland Valley High in Mechanicsburg, Pa. on Tuesday became Penn State's 10th verbal commitment for the Class of 2008.

Lawlor's brother, Jim Lawlor, confirmed that Dan made a trip to Happy Valley Tuesday with his parents to inform the Penn State staff of his decision.

"Yeah he committed today," Jim Lawlor said. "It's pretty much a done deal. He went up to meet with (Coach Joe) Paterno today and tell him.

Dan Lawlor later confirmed his decision.

Lawlor hails from the same school as OL
Lawlor will be a three-year starter this fall. He reportedly had offers from PSU, Maryland, Iowa and Vanderbilt and received serious attention from Notre Dame, Michigan, Michigan State and Virginia Tech.

Lawlor was named third team AAAA all-state by the PA Football News in 2002. He is rated the 11th best player in Pennsylvania by the G&W Recruiting Report
