My official visit to Ohio State

Editor's Note: The Recruits' Rap is a semi-regular feature from Rivals100.com.

It'll feature the nation's top recruits talking about what's going on in the recruiting process in their own words.

This installment is from four-star offensive tackle Brett Gallimore of Riverside (Mo.) Park Hill South. Gallimore talks his official visit to Ohio State.

This week produced 92 pieces of mail, 16 phone calls from coaches and four calls from recruiting services.

This was a busy week with football practice, home work, game on Friday night, travel to Columbus on Friday night and a weekend at OSU.

We had our season opener against Truman High School on Friday night, which we won 41-13. Truman played pretty well regardless of the score and are a much improved team.

We, as a team, played fairly well. But, had way too many mistakes. I personally had 18 knockdowns or pancakes. I believe this is my high for one game.

Immediately after getting back to our high school, I met with my parents and headed for home to shower, grab my bags and head for the airport to travel to Columbus, Ohio, and an official visit to Ohio State.

I had a great weekend with the coaches and players and watched a close game. Coach Spencer, coach Bollman (offensive line coach) and coach Tressell were great to be around and to talk to.

I did kick coach Spencer's butt in arcade games.

I had some serious conversation with coach Bollman about where I would fit into Ohio State's program. He is a very good line coach.

I met with coach Tressell on Sunday morning and we talked about a number of things. I enjoyed talking with him. He is a great head coach with very high morals and is very concerned about all of his players.

I toured the campus and met about academics. They were informative and helpful in going over my options and major.

All in all, the visit was very good. It was all I expected and more. The Ohio State program is first class as are the coaches and staff.

I departed Columbus Sunday evening and headed back home to Kansas City. When I got home the answering machine had 13 messages from coaches and four from recruiting services.

Monday morning and I'm back to school. Then practice, game on Friday night against Columbia Hickman.

Then I will go on an unofficial trip to University of Michigan on Saturday morning with my brother Erik and my sister-in-law Mary. We will stay over night and try to spend time with coach Andy Moeller (offensive line coach) and possibly coach Carr. Then I will travel back to K.C. on Sunday evening.

Another busy week!
