Jackson planning on five officials

One of Mississippi's more dynamic athletes in the 2004 recruiting crop is Terrell Jackson from 1A powerhouse Puckett High School. A first team All-State selection as a junior, he was also named to the All-District team as a freshman and the All-Region team as a sophomore. This season, is leading the way this season as the Wolves are off to a 6-1 start. Jackson and his teammates have this week off, but will face stiff competition next week when they battle South Leake.

"Action Jackson", as he is called by his teammates, is seeing time on offense as a wingback and on defense at free safety. Although he likes to make the big hit and pick off the occasional pass, Jackson prefers to play on the offensive side of the ball.

"I just like to have the ball in my hands," he said.

In August Jackson was named to the Clarion Ledger's preseason "Dandy Dozen" team, the distinction and solid play has seen his popularity rise to levels he never expected. But with all the attention his is receiving, Jackson is still as humble.

"It's an honor and something I never expected," he said. "Especially since I play for a 1A team."

"But it's alright. I don't let any of it get to my head," said Jackson

While concentrating on his football season, Jackson has yet to find time this year to take any unofficial visits. With offers on the table from Ole Miss, MSU, Southern Mississippi, LSU, and Auburn, he is still weighing his options and currently lists no favorites. Jackson has decided though, that he will visit those five schools officially.

According to Jackson, the biggest factor in his decision could be which school offers the best academic program in the major he chooses. He is currently debating whether that will be Education or Physical Therapy.

Although unsure of his GPA, Jackson is a good student and projects as a full qualifier.
