Palmetto State Receiver Has Five Offers On Table

DB C.J. Byrd (6-3 190) of North Augusta has received an offer from USC, the first in-state offer for him.

Byrd also has offers  from Illinois, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Auburn.

His USC offer came last week. Byrd said his offers came in the form of e-mails. He is also drawing interest from Clemson, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Virginia, NC State, North Carolina, Georgia and Michigan. Byrd grew up a USC fan and went to several games in Columbia last season, but does not have a front runner right now. "USC and Clemson are dead even for #1," he said. He went to one Clemson game last season. Auburn, Georgia and Michigan complete his top five. Rick Stockstill is his USC recruiter and Ron West is his Clemson recruiter.

Last season Byrd had 92 tackles with 2 interceptions. He also plays receiver and had 36 catches for 567 yards and 2 touchdowns.

He will be attending several camps this summer and we will keep you posted on his travels as well as his interests.
