Murdock injured in CaliFlorida practice

MIAMI - Tampa (Fla.) Middleton wide receiver O.J. Murdock is one of the top wide receivers in America. In Friday morning's practice he had a scary moment when he went down with an ankle injury. Today Rivals.com caught up with Murdock and talked with him about the extent of his injury and a little bit of recruiting as well.

"I twisted my ankle in practice this morning," Murdock said. "It's not anything serious at all, I should be able to work in practice tomorrow and I will definitely be ready to go by the time of the game Sunday. I am just icing it right now making sure that it doesn't get stiff and it doesn't swell or anything like that. It's a little bit sore and all, but I don't think that it is going to effect me much at all this weekend."

The 6-foot-0, 178-pound Murdock is one of the fastest players in America running the 40-yard dash in 4.39 seconds, the shuttle in 4.12 seconds. He has a 31-inch vertical jump and does seven reps on the bench press.

"Tennessee, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina are the four schools that are pretty much left on my list right now," Murdock said. "Tennessee and Florida are probably a little bit ahead of South Carolina and Florida State right now. I have official visits set up to Florida on January 7, South Carolina on January 14, Tennessee on January 21 and Florida State is my last visit on January 28."

Murdock is ranked as the nation's No. 49 player overall, the nation's No. seven wide receiver and the No. 19 player in the Sunshine State.
