Moses named to Lott watch list

Georgia defensive end Quentin Moses has been named to the 42-player watch list for the 2005 Lott Trophy, according to an announcement by the IMPACT Foundation of The Pacific Club in California.

Named after Hall of Famer and former Southern Cal All-American Ronnie Lott, the trophy goes to the college defensive player of the year who has the biggest IMPACT (an acronym for integrity, maturity, performance, academics, community and tenacity) both on and off the field. Georgia¹s David Pollack won the inaugural award last year.

Moses, a 6-5, 248-pound junior from Athens, registered 23 tackles last season. He had 6.5 sacks, including a team-high 3.0 against Georgia Tech, and 7.5 tackles for loss. Moses was named to the 2004 SEC Academic Honor Roll. He is majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies.

The award will be presented on Dec. 11, 2005, in Newport Beach, Cal.
