After the first day of FSU's football camp it was a foregone conclusion that Ryan McMahon would become the 'Noles' third commitment for the recruiting class of 2006.
Last night he pulled the trigger when he told defensive line coach Odell Haggins that he was coming to Florida State. He will make it official this afternoon when he has a face-to-face meeting with head coach Bobby Bowden.
"I talked to coach Odell and told him this is where I want to come and play," McMahon told Warchant.com. "I felt real comfortable around coach Odell and I love this place... I just feel he is going to make me a better player"
The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman says he is not planning on taking any official visits other than a trip to Florida State this fall.
McMahon just turned 17-years old and will likely be a little bigger when he reports to FSU next summer.
As a junior, McMahon recorded 52 pancake blocks on offense. On defense, he racked up 48 tackles, 12 TFL, 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 blocked punts, and 1 blocked kick. He should have no problems qualifying and recently scored over an 1,000 on the SAT.
