Hawaii DL heading to Utes

SAN ANTONIO, Texas- Kahuku (Hawaii) defensive tackle Joseph Faifili made a verbal commitment to Utah during Saturday's Army All-American Bowl.

"My choice is the Runnin' Utes," Faifili said.

He chose the Utes ahead of offers from BYU, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon State and Washington.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder has enjoyed a solid week of practice working on the West defensive line, alongside stars Al Woods and Gerald McCoy.

He has an official visit lined up to Salt Lake City for the weekend of Jan. 20.

Faifili is Utah's 15th verbal commitment for the class of 2006 and the second from the state of Hawaii.
