The latest on Goodson

Just when the situation surrounding Rivals100 running back Michael Goodson couldn't possibly handle more rumors, things heated back up when the four-star running back and his father finally took an official visit to Oklahoma State this past weekend.

According to Goodson's father, Mike Goodson, his 6-foot-0, 205-pound son who is rated as the No. 8 running back in the country had a good visit where they got to see more of the campus and the academic sides of things.

"It went okay," Goodson's father said. "He just wanted to come up again and check things out so he can get his decision done this week. We really got to see the campus in its entirety and meet some more of the academic people."

But sources close to the situation have said that the visit did not go so well. Talk also has surfaced that both Oklahoma State and the Goodson family have decided to go in different directions.

This comes on top of reports that Texas A&M has been the team to beat since the U.S. Army All-American Bowl when the talented young man decided to not announce on live television. From all accounts, it sounds safe to say that Cowboys are probably not an option any longer.

Goodson's father also mentioned that the family has been getting some new phone calls.

"Some other schools have called, but we haven't set anything up yet," Goodson's father said. "Texas has shown some interest and made some calls. They've wanted to know about a visit."

According to some sources, the rumors of the Longhorns being interested aren't entirely off base. If indeed Texas indeed gets involved, it would be a surprise. The Longhorns haven't seriously pursued Goodson throughout the entire process.

In-home visits are also a hot topic surrounding the situation. Goodson's father mentioned that he expects visits from the coaches at Texas A&M and Southern Cal.

Even with all the talk, rumors, and reports, it appears that this journey looks to end this week.

"I think we'll have something settled between today and the end of this week," the elder Goodson said.

Will it be Texas A&M? Will it be Southern Cal? Will Texas get involved? Stay tuned.
