Big East Power Offers Lake City Linebacker

Lake City Coach Justin Gentry is watching the stock of one his key players, linebacker Scotty Cooper soar.

In the past few weeks, this young linebacker, who you saw first on SCVarsity.com, has received offers from some of the top programs in the SEC, ACC, and Big Ten. Now, the Big East is getting in on the action with his latest offer.

Today, the 6-1,200lbs linebacker received an offer fromWest Virginia.

Cooper has also been offered by Clemson, South Carolina, NC State, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, and Michigan, according to Lake City Coach Justin Gentry. He's also receiving a lot of interest from Florida State, Penn State, Nebraska, Georgia, North Carolina, and East Carolina.

While many say his home state Gamecocks are in the lead for his services, Cooper maintains that he has no favorites right now.

Cooper, a 6-1, 200lbs two-way starter, collected 96 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. He had eleven tackles for loss and four sacks. He's a vital part of the Panther running game and is very dangerous as a kick returner.
