Riddell Footwear: Tight end Nominations

Tight end Nominations
The Riddell Footwear High School All-America Football Team consists of the best football players in the entire country. Additionally, the team will bestow seven special coaching awards - one to the national high school coach of the year and six more to regional coaches of the year throughout the country. Here are the nominations for the tight end position. The actual team members will be announced in January, along with the Riddell Footwear National Coach of the Year and six Riddell Footwear Regional Coaches of the Year.

Olson, Ben R.J. Coleman
Clarksburg (W.V.) Robert Byrd
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 260 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8 seconds
GPA: 3.0
One of the best tight end prospects in the country, Coleman followed his dream and committed to Ohio State early.
College choices: Committed to Ohio State.
Olson, Ben Lonnie Davis
Jacksonville (Fla.) Ed White
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 255 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.69 seconds
GPA: 2.7
Davis is the best tight end in Florida and one of the top tight ends in the nation. He combines great size with good speed and hands
College choices: Florida State, Arkansas, Auburn, Miami, Michigan State
Olson, Ben
John Doucette
New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 245 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.48 seconds
GPA: 3.0
One of the top players in Louisiana. Doucette has good blocking skills and a pair of soft hands. In his first three games, Doucette caught nine passes for around 100 yards.
College choices: Florida State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, LSU, Miami and West Virginia.
Olson, Ben
Anthony Fasano
Verona, N.J.
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 230 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8 seconds
GPA: 3.0
The best tight end in New Jersey and one of the tops in the country, Fasano can block like a lineman and run routes like a wideout.
College choices: Committed to Notre Dame.
Olson, Ben
Curtus Justus
Perry, Okla.

Height: 6-foot-7
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.5 seconds
GPA: 4.0
When talking about the top player in Oklahoma, you'd be stupid to not mention Justus near the top of your list. The kid is simply a game-breaker. He does it all. Depending the system, Justus could be a hand-on-the ground tight end or a tight end that also doubles as a slot receiver or an H-back.
College choices: Miami, Florida State, Michigan, Oklahoma and UCLA.
Olson, Ben
Aaron Kirkland
Fayetteville (Fla.) Jack Britt
Height: 6-foot-5
Weight: 240 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.8 seconds
GPA: 3.0
Kirkland is one of the nation's elite tight end prospects. He reminds college coaches of a Marcus Spears type player from the Class of 2001. He has the same type of build and ability to make big plays.
College choices: Clemson, Florida State, Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee.
Olson, Ben
Marcedes Lewis
Long Beach (Calif.) Poly
Height: 6-foot-6
Weight: 233 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.65 seconds
GPA: 3.0
Lewis is a lethal pass-catcher and is deadly with the ball in his hands.
College choices: Committed to UCLA.
Olson, Ben Jesse Taylor
Chaminade, Calif.
Height: 6-foot-4
Weight: 238 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.7 seconds
GPA: 3.0
One of the top tight ends in California and will be one of the better ends in the entire nation. Taylor is still a relatively young player and won't turn 17 until September. Still, he's physically able to dominate players at the high school level and has a college body already.
College choices: Colorado, Georgia Tech, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
Olson, Ben
David Thomas
Wolfforth (Texas) Frenship
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.55 seconds
GPA: 3.5
Thomas is one of the top all-purpose players in the state. Last season, Thomas earned all-state honors on both sides of the ball after catching 55 passes for 1,103 yard and 14 touchdowns as a tight end and recording 141 tackles and two interceptions at linebacker. Look for Thomas to line up at a number of spots at the next level, but he'll likely specialize as an H-back.
College choices: Committed to Texas.
Olson, Ben
Eric Winston
Midland (Texas) Lee
Height: 6-foot-7
Weight: 255 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.77 seconds
GPA: 3.0
Winston is one of the Lone Star State's most dominant individual players. The 6-7, 255-pound Winston is a blocking machine, capable of humiliating anyone that lines up across from him. He projects as an outstanding offensive tackle, but will probably play tight end for at least the early part of his career.
College choices: Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Michigan and Notre Dame.
