Lake City (S.C.) linebacker Scotty Cooper has seen his offer list almost reach double digits, with multiple big-time programs stepping up with scholarship offers recently.
"LSU, West Virginia and Tennessee are my most recent offers," Cooper said. "Notre Dame came to see me at the school, but they haven't officially offered me. I also like Clemson, USC, Michigan, NC State, Virginia Tech and schools like that."
Both in-state head coaches came by the school to see him last week.
"Coach (Steve) Spurrier and coach (David) Reaves from USC and coach (Tommy) Bowden and coach (Dabo) Swinney from Clemson came by the school. I like both of those programs a lot. Coach Spurrier is going to do a lot of good things at USC, and Coach Bowden has done a good job at Clemson. Both of them are close to home, too."
Notre Dame and Tennessee have piqued Cooper's interest as well.
"Both of them have a lot of tradition and good programs. I'm going to visit Tennessee this summer, and I might go up to Notre Dame, too."
In fact, Cooper plans to take several visits this summer.
"I'm going to one day camps at USC, Clemson and Tennessee. I'm getting a lot more offers and more teams getting interested in me, so I want to take a whole bunch of trips over the summer. I want to see as many schools as I can before I make a decision."
For now, Cooper says one team stands out to some degree.
"I would say I'm kind of a lean to Clemson, but I really wouldn't say they're my number one school. I know that's kind of confusing, but I still like a lot of other schools, too. USC, Tennessee, NC State, there's a lot of them. I'm not really close to making a decision."
