To this point in the recruiting process Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic safety Antonio Allen hasn't received the same fanfare his teammates John Brantley and Dion Lecorn have, but that hasn't prevented him from building an impressive offer list of his own.
"My offers are from South Carolina, Clemson, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Louisville, North Carolina and NC State," the 6-foot-1, 185-pound Allen said. "I haven't spent much time on recruiting yet, so I'm open to all schools really."
Allen, who racked up 114 tackles and two interceptions as a junior, recently attended camp at Florida.
"Florida has a nice environment," he said. "Coach (Dan) Mullen spent a lot of time with me, and I got the chance to hang out with a lot of their players. It's close to home, too. They told me I was high on their list, and that they should be offering me soon."
South Carolina also rates highly on Allen's list.
"Steve Spurrier is their coach, and they run a nice defensive system. They have a good defensive coordinator, too. Me and Dion (Lecorn) have talked about playing together, and that's a team both of us like."
Clemson and Louisville round out the list of schools Allen commented on.
"I like my recruiter from Clemson (Chris Rumph), but I don't know as much about them yet. Same with Louisville. I'm still learning about them, but I know they have won a lot of games recently."
Allen, who runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, knows what he's looking for in a school.
"I don't want to go too far from home, and I want to know I'll be comfortable with my teammates. I also want the chance for early playing time."
Three teams currently sit at the top of Allen's list.
"Florida, South Carolina and Clemson are probably at the top. I'll decide where I'm going sometime after my senior season is over with."
