Tampa (Fla.) Jefferson four-star quarterback and Rivals100 member Stephen Garcia has had a relaxing summer to this point, but things will be changing next month.
"I'm actually at the beach right now relaxing, but I've got the Elite 11 QB camp coming up from July 24th through July 27th," the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Garcia said. "I don't know the exact day we're leaving, but it will probably be on the 23rd. I was really honored when they invited me. It's pretty cool, and I'm really looking forward to getting out there."
Garcia and his family recently traveled to Boston for his older brother's graduation ceremony at Harvard and took advantage of the opportunity to visit an area school.
"We went by Boston College and met with the head coach, the offensive coordinator and the quarterback coach, and I also met with their current quarterback. They offered me a scholarship while I was there. The coaches were telling me they really haven't had a quarterback that can run it and throw it, and they thought they could utilize my individual talents if I came there."
Garcia also came away impressed with the Eagles' facilities.
"Everything was brand new and like state of the art," Garcia said. "Their facilities definitely got my attention. Boston College is a pretty interesting place for me."
While Boston College made a favorable impression on Garcia, the trip didn't change the list of schools Garcia is most focused on.
"It's still South Carolina and Florida. I just feel most comfortable with the opportunities at those places and the coaches there. Ole Miss is in there right behind them."
While Garcia has a short list, he still isn't sure when he'll announce which school he plans to sign with.
"I really have no idea whatsoever when I'll commit," he said. "I'm just waiting to get comfortable enough with everything to do it."
