Mississippi State has had several offensive linemen in its sights for several weeks, but with several early commitments the slots are filling up fast. Independence OL Quentin Saulsberry made sure he still had a slot when he cast his lot with the Bulldogs at camp over the weekend. What made him choose State?
"I went on and made my decision to commit to Mississippi State," commented the 6-foot-3, 270 pounder. "I just got there and was real confident and made my choice.
"It was just my impression of coach Croom and his style of offense. It was my first time there and they just made a good impression.
"I didn't go by my first impression, but I really liked it."
While he liked the coaches and the atmosphere, several of the camp participants - some already Bulldogs, and some not yet - also caught Saulsberry's eye. The State coaches also liked what they saw in his particular unit.
"I got to see the team and saw a few players I already know and ones I already played against," he said. "I saw how we fit together and how good it felt on and off the field. I just liked the atmosphere.
