Despite the fact that the defense has carried the team to its current 7-1 record, the members of the Alligator Alley decided to stay on the offensive side of the ball with Andre Caldwell garnering enough votes to edge out a quartet of defensive players. The vote for Caldwell is the sixth time in eight games that the Alley-Gator Great played offense.
That's not to say he didn't earn it. Caldwell caught 8 passes for 88 yards and scored 2 touchdowns in Florida's 21-14 win over Georgia.
THE REASON WHY:
Individual performance goes to Bubba, who really showed up to play today, but I would have voted for the whole D line if it were a choice. They were spectacular and the main reason we won this game. - FresnoGator
I have to go with Bubba as he was a constant on offense that the team could depend on if given the chance. I nearly went with Earl Everrett because he shined today also. Ultimately in my head it had to be AC...he scored both TD's and made them both by making sure he wouldn't go down until he crossed the plane. - G8RFan03
Andre Caldwell. He was our Percy Harvin before any of us knew who Percy Harvin was and his performance today should serve as a little reminder in case anybody had forgotten. It was great to see Bubba back at full speed and dominating the 'dawgs defense. He was on the verge of a huge season last year before he got hurt. Now he is back at full strength and seems to be better than ever. - Gators18
