QB Willie Tuitama threw five TD passes as the host Wildcats downed Washington State 48-20. Freshman Nicolas Grigsby, making his second career start, ran for 186 yards on 30 carries. The Sun Devils rolled to a 41-3 victory over Stanford in their first road game of the season. Rudy Carpenter threw a 62-yard touchdown pass to Rudy Burgess late in the second quarter, then Omar Bolden returned an interception for a score on the next play from scrimmage to boost the Sun Devils. WR DeSean Jackson came up big to lift the Golden Bears to a 31-24 victory over host Oregon. Jackson had 11 catches for 161 yards and two TDs to spark Cal to the victory. TB Justin Forsett ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns as Cal won at Oregon for the first time since 1987. Next: Oct. 13, vs. Oregon State.
Dennis Dixon threw for 306 yards and a TD and ran for a touchdown, but also threw his first two interceptions of the season in a 31-24 loss to visiting California. With 22 seconds to go, Dixon completed a pass to WR Cameron Colvin, who fumbled trying to reach the ball into the end zone. The loose ball went through the end zone and was ruled a touchback and possession for Cal.

The Beavers fell apart in the fourth quarter, allowing four TDs in a 40-14 loss to visiting UCLA. Oregon State's Gerard Lawson fumbled three consecutive kickoff returns in the fourth quarter, losing two of them that UCLA converted into touchdowns. The Beavers recovered Lawson's third fumble, then had to punt after the drive stymied. UCLA blocked the punt, then scored another TD. Beavers QB Sean Canfield threw three interceptions, giving him 11 for the season.

The Cardinal were held to zero rushing yards in a 41-3 loss to visiting Arizona State. Stanford allowed seven sacks. The Cardinal has been outscored 141-51 in its three conference losses and goes on the road for the first time this week to play USC Next: Saturday, at USC.
The Bruins scored four fourth-quarter TDs in beating host Oregon State 40-14. The Beavers lost fumbles on back-to-back kickoff returns in the fourth quarter, and the Bruins scored TDs off both. It was UCLA's fifth consecutive victory over the Beavers. Brandon Breazell had two touchdown catches. Next: Saturday, vs. Notre Dame.
The Trojans rode a strong rushing attack to a 27-24 victory over Washington. Stafon Johnson ran for 122 yards and a TD, and Chauncey Washington added 106 yards and a score for the Trojans. The Trojans committed three turnovers, had a punt blocked late and were called for 16 penalties, but still won for the 60th time in 64 games.

The Huskies allowed 224 rushing yards and fell 27-24 to visiting USC. Washington scored with 34 seconds left after a blocked punt, but USC recovered the onside kick. QB Jake Locker ran for two touchdowns, but he struggled in the air. Locker was 12 of 27 passing for 83 yards and an interception. It was Washington's third consecutive loss. The Cougars saw host Arizona score four second-half touchdowns and fell 48-20. Washington State scored on its final drive of the first half and its first drive of the second half to tie it at 20. It was all Arizona after that. The Cougars' Alex Brink threw for 347 yards and three TDs, and Brandon Gibson had 11 catches for 127 yards and a score. Next: Saturday, vs. Arizona State.
