Pac-10 Week 8 Recap
Arizona
The Wildcats lost for the fifth time in six games, falling 21-20 to visiting Stanford. The Wildcats led 10-0 early in the second quarter before Stanford rallied. Arizona's defense played well, holding the Cardinal to 277 total yards.

Arizona State
The Sun Devils were off last week.
Next: Saturday, vs. California.
California
The Golden Bears dropped their second in a row, falling 30-21 at UCLA. WR DeSean Jackson had nine receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Nate Longshore threw three TDs but also tossed three picks. The Golden Bears' rushing attack was shut down by an aggressive UCLA defense.

Oregon
The Ducks ran for a school-record 465 yards in getting past host Washington 55-34. Oregon scored 24 points in the fourth quarter to break away from a 31-31 tie. Jonathan Stewart ran for 251 yards and two TDs on 32 carries to lead the way. Oregon finished with 661 total yards and beat Washington for the fourth consecutive time, the Ducks' longest such streak in the series since 1928-31.

Oregon State
The Beavers were off last week.
Next: Saturday, vs. Stanford.
Stanford
The Cardinal won their second consecutive league road game, beating Arizona 21-20. Jeremy Stewart's 1-yard TD run midway through the fourth quarter proved to be decisive. Stanford won despite being held to 277 total yards.
Next: Saturday, at Oregon State.
UCLA
Sophomore CB Alterraun Verner had two interceptions, including one he returned 76 yards for the game-clinching TD, as the Bruins upset visiting California 30-21. Verner's TD return came with 1:33 left. UCLA held Cal to 299 total yards, almost 135 below the Golden Bears' season average. Kai Fortbath kicked three field goals for the Bruins.

USC
Mark Sanchez threw four TD passes in his second college start as the Trojans blasted host Notre Dame 38-0. It was the Trojans' sixth consecutive victory in the series and their largest margin of victory in the history of the 79-game rivalry. The Trojans held the Irish to 48 yards on 30 carries.

Washington
The Huskies lost their fifth in a row, falling 55-34 to visiting Oregon. Washington allowed 661 total yards, including 465 on the ground. QB Jake Locker threw for 257 yards and four scores, and also ran for 78 yards.
Next: Saturday, vs. Arizona.
Washington State
The Cougars were off last week.
Next: Saturday, vs. UCLA.
