Union County DL Gives Verbal

Union (SC) Union County Yellow Jacket defensive lineman Sam Hammond has been a player to watch since his freshman season and he capped off his high school career with a selection to the South Carolina Shrine Bowl team. Now, the 6-3, 300lbs trenchman has given his commitment to an in-state school to play his collegiate career close to home.

Hammond of Union County was the latest prospect to give a verbal commitment to the South Carolina State Bulldogs. The 6-3, 300-pound Shrine Bowl participant played on both sides of the football  this past season, collecting 46 tackles and 7 quarterback hurries on defense and 22 pancake blocks with an 86 percent grade in on the offensive line.
