Brian Broadnax, DT, Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: At 5 feet 11.5, 271 pounds, Broadnax was voted the combine's DL MVP as well as the strongest man. Broadnax impressed coaches by bench pressing 185 pounds 23 times. Broanax also has surprising athleticism and his 21.5 jump-stand vertical was impressive for a lineman.
Chase Brooks, OL, Crestview (Fla.) COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: At 6-0, 255 pounds, Brooks displayed his dominance and overall skills en route to winning the OL MVP. His size, however, does not affect his speed as his 4.84 shuttle time was phenomenal for a lineman.
Jerome Cooper, WR, Mobile (Ala.) Baker COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Jerome Cooper was voted the Sophomore Combine King after amazing the coaches. Cooper had a 29.5-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'5 broad jump, a blazing 4.19 shuttle, and 4.48 40 time.
Preston Messer, QB, Mobile (Ala.) McGill Toolen COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Messer, a 6-0, 172-pound quarterback was awarded the overall freshman MVP after displaying excellent abilities during the combine. Messer ran a 4.44 shuttle, had a 27.5-inch jump-stand vertical, and a 8'6 broad jump. Messer is definitely a player to keep an eye on.
Jordan Patterson, QB, Mobile (Ala.) Baker COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Patterson, a 6-3, 180-pound quarterback was voted the MVP following an excellent effort at the combine. Patterson had a 24-inch jump-stand vertical, 8'3 broad jump and ran a 4.49 shuttle. Patterson's size will make him a quarterback to watch out for.
Logan Paul, QB, Gulf Shores (Ala.) COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Paul, a 5-11, 176-pound QB was awarded the leadership award due to his impressive team-leading skills. Paul's abilities should help his Gulf Shores team reach its maximum potential in the 2008 season.
Travon Reed, WR, Thibodaux (La.) COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Reed received the prestigious overall MVP award after amazing the coaches with excellent numbers across the board. Reed had a 32.5-inch jump-stand vertical, 9'6 broad jump, 4.56 shuttle, and 4.56 40 time. The 5-11.5, 170-pound Reed showed that he is one heck of an athlete.
Nick Smith, RB, Panama City (Fla.) Rutherford COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: Smith was awarded the RB MVP after posting excellent athletic statistics as well as displaying phenomenal strength. The 5-6, 181-pound powerhouse bench pressed 155 pounds 29 times in addition to running a 4.57 40. Smith also had a 25 ½ inch vertical.
Jordan Spriggs, CB, Mobile (Ala.) Murphy COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: At 5-9, 168 pounds, Spriggs was the fastest man and DB MVP. He had a 4.40 time in the 40, 9'0 broad jump, 30-inch vertical and 4.31-second shuttle to go along with his outstanding effort on the field in the one-on-one drills.
Jackie Williams, WR, Semmes (Ala.) Mary Montgomery COMBINE HIGHLIGHTS: The 5-9.5, 171-pound Williams was one of the most athletic players at the combine. Williams' 31.5-inch jump-stand vertical was very impressive. Williams also ran a 4.58 shuttle which helped on the way to his award-winning effort at wideout.
