Boswell exploring options

SAN ANTONIO - Most of the prospects playing in the U.S. Army All-American Game have all of the offers that they need and it's all about narrowing down the options. For kicker Chris Boswell, it's a little bit of a different situation.

"I'm not really thinking too much about schools right now," Boswell said. "I'm just thinking about this game and hopefully it will get my name out there more than my season did."

The 6-foot-3, 180-pounder from Keller, Texas currently has one offer on the table from North Texas and other programs are beginning to show interest as well.

"Rice is waiting on a kid to say yes or no and if not, they'll offer me," he said.

Both Texas Tech and Texas A&M have told Boswell that they don't have room as of right now, but would be more than happy to have the Rivals.com No. 5 ranked kicker in the country as a walk-on.

"Right now they both have all of their offers out on the table and they're waiting to see who commits to them," Boswell said. "It depends if any offers open up as to whether I get one or not. They just tell me to keep checking in with them and see what they have."

After talking with his parents about his current recruiting situation, Boswell feels that the best might be yet to come. He'll continue to hold off until he takes some more official visits this January.

"I've already taken an official to Texas Tech to the UT game. It was a pretty good game," Bowsell said. "Right now I have a visit set up for North Texas on Jan. 15 and Texas A&M on Jan. 23."

If everything goes according to plan this Saturday, Boswell will have a stellar performance on national television and possibly add some more offers to his profile. If that's the case, the Fossil Ridge senior might be going on more than just two visits next month.
