We reported earlier in the week that Newport athlete Thamail Morgan may not play his senior season for the Greyhounds.
According to an article ran this morning by Vype.com, it apprears that this may be true, and that Morgan may be considering a transfer to another school.
According to the article written by Vype, Morgan violated "school policy" sometime in January, and "hasn't been in the athletic complex since February" according to head coach Greg Brannon.
Morgan is said to have broken a school rule that is punishable with a yearlong ban from athletics, and he would be eligible to play winter sports such as basketball, but not football.
Morgan is appealing this decision, and Coach Brannon, who is also the athletic director at Newport, has stated that there is a "small chance" that he could return to the team.
Morgan is also considering transferring to another district. Some of the schools he is considering transferring to includes Batesville, where his father lives, as well as McCrory, Jonesboro and Conway where he has family, all according to Brannon.
ArkansasVarsity.com will be following this situation closely, and will keep you up to date on any future news regarding the status of Morgan's eligibility.
