Lacy, Sentimore cleared (UPDATED Wed. PM)

Geismar (La.) Dutchman running back Eddie Lacy and Destrehan (La.) defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore have been approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse and both plan to travel to Tuscaloosa today to join the Alabama football team.

"I told my brother as soon as I got off the phone, 'Thank the Lord'," said Lacy, a four-star prospect who took summer school classes in order to qualify. "I'm driving up there today."

When asked via text Wednesday afternoon if he had been certified for freshman eligibility, Sentimore replied, "Yeah, I'm on my way up to Bama now."

Lacy and Sentimore were the last two recruits UA was awaiting word on.

Lacy said he did not have a backup plan for a specific junior college had he not been approved.

"I don't know what I would have done - I just tried to stay positive," he said.
