COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Less than one week into the start of its second fall camp under head coach Urban Meyer, Ohio State has dismissed sophomore defensive back Najee Murray from its roster due to a violation of team rules, sources tell BuckeyeGrove.com.
An Ohio State spokesperson said that he could not confirm Murray's dismissal.
A former four-star prospect, Murray had been working with the Buckeyes' second-team defense as a cornerback over the past week.
Murray played in five games in 2012 before tearing his ACL in October. The Steubenville, Ohio native recorded three tackles in freshman campaign, with the majority of his playing time coming on special teams.
